Improbable experiment with democracy???

There are many ways the Associated Press could have captioned this photograph. Historic. A Victory for freedom and democracy. A victory for self government and human rights. A victory in the war on terror. But the AP chose improbable experiment with democracy. How utterly lame. How transparently biased. No doubt if John Kerry were President it would be a victory for democracy but since it might possibly show George Bush in a positive light this close to the election it's safer to say it's an improbable experiment in democracy.

Afghanistan's first-ever direct presidential election began Saturday, with people across this ethnically diverse land casting the first ballot in an improbable experiment with democracy.
