Slipping over the edge

This country needs some major reforms to get back on track. Even if Romney wins I'm not so sure those reforms will happen. The amount and kind of regulations and laws that have accreted over the last hundred years has put us on a path of fiscal insolvency and complete destruction of our constitutional rights. If we don't reverse the trend our freedoms will be gone and buried.
President Barack Obama is running roughshod over the Constitution, legal scholars say, by disregarding it, changing laws outside the legislative process, and extending federal power in unprecedented ways. The president has “profound disdain for the Constitution,” said David Rivkin, a lawyer at the BakerHostetler law firm in Washington, DC. ~freebeacon.com
Federalism is all but dead leaving the constitution dead on the superhighway of tryanny. Every level of government is filled with those who seek to profit from their positions all the while restricting and controlling the populace at an ever greater level.
Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens called for Congress to tighten gun laws in the wake of shootings such as the one that took place in Aurora, Colorado...
Stevens also had a recommendation for people who keep a weapon in their homes for self-defense purposes. “Maybe you have some kind of constitutional right to have a cell phone with a pre-dialed 911 in the number at your bedside and that might provide you with a little better protection than a gun which you’re not used to using,” he said to laughter. ~washingtonexaminer.com
